For everyone who has every collected books, stamps, coins and certainly manuscripts you remember the moment.  You make one purchase and find an additional surprise. So it was for in William Leslie in 2014.  With time on his hands, a visit to an old bookstore.   Then a thin paper bag caught his eye. “It was labeled “Four old school atlases, $50.” With permission, I opened it up and examined the first two items. They were indeed school atlases, dated 1817 and 1820. They were very tattered, almost limp, and they looked as if they had been well-used by a long series of students. Each contained eight or ten maps with exotic-sounding place names, like Nubia and Abyssinia. The maps of North America more or less stopped west of the Mississippi.”

But that would not be all!  After purchasing and returning to his office he opens the bag. Extracts from the Votes and Proceedings of the American Continental Congress Held At Philadelphia on the 5th of September, 1774. WOW! Is it possibly real? So begins his search. To read the entire story
