Annual Fund Contributions
Description
The Annual Fund: Why You Should Support Us.
The Manuscript Society supports a wide variety of projects, publications, and activities of interest to collectors, librarians, archivists and historians. Just take a moment to look around our web site. Anyone with an interest in manuscript documents or an appreciation for their role in history will find something valuable amongst our publications, our annual meeting and other gatherings and excursions, our scholarship programs, and so on.
Our Society kindles the passion for autographs and manuscripts by getting members together in person to view items and to discuss their history. We learn from each other’s experience and knowledge, and we share our enthusiasm and support. Documents by themselves are indeed fascinating, but in the context of our friendships with others who similarly appreciate them, they truly do come alive.
Given some thought, it quickly becomes clear that the cost of all that our Society does cannot be supported solely from membership dues. Generous supporters over the years have established the Society’s “Annual Fund,” a recurring campaign of financial support that enables the Manuscript Society to offer more meaningful experiences, deeper academic explorations, and more frequent activities every year than would otherwise be possible.
Our Annual Fund recognizes support at several levels, particularly the one that is most comfortable for you. Whether you are a frequent attendee at our annual meetings, a sometime participant in local or regional activities, or someone who appreciates the information made available through our publications, there is a level of support that best recognizes the appreciation you have for our efforts.
Regardless of the level of support at which you feel comfortable, always remember that it is the total amount raised from all of our donors that makes the Society’s activities and publications possible.
The Manuscript Society is a 501(c)(3) public charitable educational foundation. Therefore, donations are generally tax-deductible for U.S. income tax purposes, although your individual tax circumstances may vary. Because we are a public charitable educational foundation, we also are eligible to receive corporate matching gifts; please contact us if you need help getting a corporate matching gift set up.
There are several ways to donate; please choose whichever is easiest for you. Whichever method you choose, be sure to include your mailing address so that we may send you a receipt for your income tax records.
